As a Commodity Specialist, the role as a strategic purchasing and sourcing professional will help drive and impact our dynamic growth to make Datamax the preferred partner in the bar coding industry. Position Summary:Utilizes an advanced knowledge of purchasing and sourcing principles, theories, and concepts to develop a solid supply chain. Responsible for understanding the requirements of suppliers pertaining to specified commodities and categories; finding suppliers able to meet those requirements; developing supplier relationships with those suppliers; and implementing long-term cost saving solutions through those supplier relationships. Qualifications:Masters Degree preferred. BachelorвЂ™s degree required unless there is an extremely strong and demonstrable record of performance over time. Min. of 5 yrs exp. and a demonstrated track record of taking ownership of sourcing and purchasing projects and programs Experience with aluminum and zinc casting commodities preferred Excellent ability to understand the total relationship with a supplier, including high-level strategy, on-going projects and immediate tactical requirements Must have the ability to work collaboratively in an aggressive and fast paced environment Strong operations understanding, knowledge of lean tools, including Kanban and visual inventory Strong ability to rationalize the supply chain in terms of strengths and location (including domestic and non-domestic suppliers) Results must be seen in the purchase price variance, inventory levels and product shipping performance.
